Creature Days
(horror comedy) Written by Jason White
Two hicks hit a Bigfoot-type creature with their pickup and come
up with the unfortunate plan to unveil it at
Creature Days, a local carnival that celebrates the supposedly
fictional monster.
Thirty five years ago Donna Sparks was the lone survivor of what
she claims was an attack on her and her friends by a
Bigfoot-type creature. Due to her outrageous claims
and the drugs in her system, nobody took her story
seriously. That didn't stop Boone, Montana from starting
an annual carnival dubbed "Creature Days", thrown in
honor of the “fictional” beast. This grew
into an infamous tourist attraction, putting them on the
map.
Shane and Dennis work at Shilo General Store where in addition
to food and beer they sell numerous kinds of Creature
paraphernalia. One morning the duo skips work and heads
out for a day of hunting and fishing. On their way the
pair hits and injures a Creature with Shane's pickup.
Seeing an opportunity to make big bucks and get away from the life
they hate, Shane and Dennis take the Creature to an
abandoned barn to hatch their get rich quick scheme. They
decide that unveiling their prize catch at Creature Days and
then selling it to the highest bidder makes the most sense.
Unfortunately, Shane and Dennis don’t realize exactly what
they have or who might be looking for it.
As Creature Days kicks off, the residents of Boone aren’t the
only ones invading the local fairgrounds. The guest of
honor crashes his own party and brings some of his nasty friends
with him. Instead of food, fun and games; terror, death
and carnage are the main attractions at this year’s carnival. Oblivious of
the slaughter taking place around him, Shane must slay his own demons or
continue to suffer the torments of messing with
mother nature. Maybe now everyone will believe Donna
Sparks’ crazy story.
The rides aren’t the only thing that’ll make you scream.
