HOLLYWOOD FUNDING CLOSES "MONSTER" DEAL
(Los Angeles) HollywoodFunding.com president Fred Davis and producers Michael
Baumgarten (WILD ROOMIES) and Don
Poquette
(CRIMETIME) are pleased to announce that they have closed a funding deal
for MONSTER MOUNTAIN, a low budget scary movie to film next month in Los
Angeles. Baumgarten will direct from a script he co-wrote with
newcomer Adam W. Marsh.
MONSTER MOUNTAIN is the tale of a young boy who gets left behind on a
mountain hiking trip and soon finds himself battling mother nature and a 7
foot monster in order to make it back home to his mother. The movie
will be shot in Los Angeles and in Seattle, Washington. Principal
Photography will begin in mid-October and the budget is described as
"significantly less than a million dollars." The terms of
the deal were finalized by attorneys J. Meyers and
Rick
Rosenthal.
The funding of MONSTER MOUNTAIN is the first for HollywoodFunding.com and
the deal was put together in less than 2 months. "Michael's project
worked because he had a tight script, inexpensive locations, and he had a
team of veterans who cut their normal rates to show they believe in
Michael and what he’s doing. They, as a team, were realistic in
their goals and made it easier for HollywoodFunding.com to get a deal
done."
"We went to Mr. Davis with a project and didn't make the mistake of
thinking movie money is Monopoly money. To prove it, our budget was
light and we all slashed our normal rates," stated Baumgarten.
"Luckily, Mr. Davis was then able to utilize that and hook us
up."
